Uccello Ancestors

Postby Amansolillo » 11 Sep 2011, 05:18

Hello. My great-grandfather was Salvatore Uccello (b. 26 Jul 1887 d. 8 Apr 1968). He had 5 brothers and sisters, two possibly being Sebastiano Uccello (b. 1890 d. 13 Mar 1919) and Vincenzo Uccello (b. Jul 1885 d. 2 Feb 1978). They were all born in Canicattini Bagni, Siracusa, Sicily. Salvatore and Sebastiano lived (and died) in Providence, Rhode Island, after having immigrated sometime in the early 1900's. I believe Vincenzo immigrated there at one point, but returned back to Sicily. What I am trying to find is the name of their mother. Sebastiano's death record states that his parents were Giuseppe Uccello and "Savda" (or "Sanda"). I believe Savda may be a an error on the record-taker's part and could be Saveria.
Last names of interest: Mansolillo, Morena, Grasso, Montecalvo, Fusco, Sinapi, DelBonis, Grossi, Sormanti, Cocuzzoli, Simonelli, Bevilacqua, Uccello, Cultrera, Pesaturo, Fragola

Form letters in Italian can be found at:

www.circolocalabrese.org/resources/letters/ and www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/it ... tters.html

The birth record will give you the full name of their mother.

Salvatore and Vincenzo arrived June 7, 1909; brother Sebastiano was already living in the US, in "River, Mass" which I presume was meant to be Fall River, Mass.

What I am trying to find is the name of their mother. Sebastiano's death record states that his parents were Giuseppe Uccello and "Savda" (or "Sanda").

Possible the first name may have been Santa
