Francesco Rolando - Detroit

Postby liviomoreno » 07 Oct 2011, 08:28

According to the ship manifest Francesco Rolando, aged 28, engineer, coming from Badalucco, arrived in Ellis Island on March 2 1924, on the SS Colombo, directed to Detroit.
I know that he was employed with Ford.
I would like to know when he died and any other available info.
Thanks in advance

Livio:
on the second page of ship's manifest, Francesco Rolando, declared that wish to remain in USA only 2 years for studies( as a stage)and also it are reference abt Torino car industry and a date 12 oct 1921...
so maybe Francesco back in Torino around 1926... in effects no more data abt Francesco Rolando in USA just this trip...

what you think abt that?

Hi Livio :-)

The only 1930 Census that comes close is a "Frank Roeland", born in Belgium, living in Detroit, Michigan.
Age on census makes his birth about 1894, and his immigration date is listed as 1924.
He is an "overseer" in an auto factory.

If this sounds like something you would like to see, I'll post it.

Suanj, you are right, I did not notice the annotation on the second page of the Manifest!

Tessa, no, I don't believe it is him!

Thanks to all for looking!
