If a child was born in Italy out of wedlock would they give the child the mothers last name?

When would they give the child the mothers last name?

For this question, normally the child have the mother's surname for all live .. the mother's surname the child receveid in birth registration or also in church.. if the child was abandoned he have an fantasy surname from Office birth of Common .......suanj
