Is anyone visiting the Frosinone archives building soon, please, who could possibly look up something for me in the military records?

You best bet is to talk to Ann T. she lives in Sora, Frosinone and she does research there.

Thanks Adelphio. Actually Frosinone is pretty good (but slow, 2-3 months) at looking up military records. Send them an email with name, birthdate, father's name and town of birth and they will do the search. If they find it they will tell you how much to send for a photocopy. IF not they will email you. They do not have any 'lista di leva' that I am aware of so if he did not serve, there won't be a record.

Thank you Adelfio and Italysearcher.

My grandfather did actually serve in the First World War (coming back to England afterwards) so hopefully his record will be there. Is it best to send an email or letter? Some say they take more notice of a letter!

Like I said, they are slow, but they always have answered my emails. If I go in person they look it up on the spot.

So disappointed - have received a reply from Frosinone and they tell me they only have records for those men born from 1923 to 1935,not for my grandfather who was born in 1893!!

I am looking to get a copy of my grandfathers military records from WW1. He was from Pontecorvo, Frosinona, Italy. I understand that you can send this request via email. I have all the info needed such as his date of birth (class) and his N.di matricola. Can you please provide me with the email address for this request and or the mailing address.
Thank you

It's the same one HOWARS gave above. Much depends on how you worded your request.
