name/abbreviation/meaning?

Postby dmt1955 » 24 Feb 2012, 23:42

I have seen some records of females and their names are listed as Ma. (MA.) in front of a second name....for example.... Ma. Donna Troisi.

Does the Ma. stand for something? an abbreviation? Title?

thanks,
donna

From Trafford Cole's excellent book...
Some information about names and their abbreviations in genealogical records :-)
Scroll to the second and third page from this site to see a LIST of male and female names and abbreviations.
