DeSimone

Postby LisaAllen » 31 Mar 2012, 16:41

Hello, my family is traveling to Italy and we want to find relatives of my great grandparents;

Rosario DeSimone date of birth October 7 1866 in Avellino Italy and married Maria Michaela Manza from Serino Italy in 1896. They immigrated to Canada in early 1900's and settled in Revelstoke British Columbia.

My maiden name is Desimone.

We would really like to find out more information and travel to the towns they are from.

Thank you. Grazie!! Is there a way to find the church that my great grandparents were married in? Rosario DeSimone and Maria Michaela Manza in 1896? What would you recommend for finding living relatives?

Normally the wedding was made in town of bride, so Serino; and the civil marriage also; the transcription of marriage was made also in Montella( groom residence).. abt the church I know not, however in the civil records office of Serino you can request the marriage certificate ... the Maria Michela maiden name is MANZO...

however before of to start a search abt living relatives, I believe that is better to make a genealogic tree, searching the siblings of Maria Michela MANZO and of Rosario DE SIMONE...
By LDS microfilms you can try
-Registri dello stato civile di Serino (Avellino), 1809-1899 Serino (Avellino). Ufficio dello stato civile

Births, marriages, banns, deaths, miscellaneous documents, ten-year indexes.

https://www.familysearch.org/eng/librar ... di+Serino+%2 &columns=*,0,0
-Registri dello stato civile di Montella (Avellino), 1809-1910 Montella (Avellino). Ufficio dello stato civile
Births, marriages, banns, deaths, miscellaneous documents, citizenship records. Many records between 1866 and 1910 are missing.

https://www.familysearch.org/eng/librar ... +Montella+ &columns=*,0,0
so knowing more you can contact the living relatives ..

In Serino the Manzo by directory

the De Simone in Montella:

hoping helpful,
