HEY VALARIE

I see you mentioned his marriage certificate, where did you see that at, would you post the link.

His death certificate had his birthdate at 1889 just like the wwi draft card...I also found this on ancestory, does anyone know why he would be on this boat?

In West Virginia, by WWI draft registration card, the italians with similar surname coming from San Giovanni in Fiore ( Cosenza province, Calabria, IT); the original surname was Le Pera ( but in same place also exist Lepera); in effects in San Giovanni in Fiore was a Lorenzo (Lawrence) Le Pera but married at Maria Audia ... a son, Pasquale Le Pera immigrated in USA in 1910 and settled in Pittsburgh, PA

http://www.ellisisland.org/search/shipM ... 0790%2ETIF

obviously it is no Charles Angelo...

just for to say that the birth area could be the same, after so much to search, and after that we have a better idea abt Charles Angelo story ....
I cannot find no one Le Pera/Lepera matching with the first name Carlo or Angelo or Carlo Angelo (in italian)
just I found a Cataldo Lepera

First Name: Cataldo
Last Name: Lepera
Ethnicity: Italy, Italian South
Last Place of Residence: Cariah
Date of Arrival: Sep 12, 1903
Age at Arrival: 18y Gender: M Marital Status: S
Ship of Travel: Citta di Milano
Port of Departure: Napoli
Manifest Line Number: 0026
http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0026

age 18, coming from Cariati, final destination the uncle Giuseppe Caligiuri in Pittsburg, PA
but this man was born on 1 Mar 1885 son of Domenico Le Pera and Filomena Furciniti

no one parent's names matching with Charles Angelo Leber parents on death certificate, as a well also no matching the birth date...

If Charles Angelo Leber mother name is right Peta (or Petta) this surname is also in same area...

The Cosenza archive database is no complete to 100% so many records are not .....

It is a hard search.... no certainty abt first name.. surname spelling is a mystery... the Sagant birthplace is a big mystery also...
the birthyear is no sure to 100%... we know not the immigration year... we know not if he is in 1910 census... it is a problem.... :?
I am so sorry....
