FAMILY NAMES

Postby carmenvalenziano » 13 May 2012, 03:13

While checking out my grandmother's uncle's family on the 1910 census, I realized that his children were named for their grandparents with the father's parents first - after the first four grandparents then the great-grandparents were next - none of the children were named after their parents - same with my grandparents - if this is true then I have a good idea of what my great-great grandparents' names could be - my brother and I were named for our grandparents - not so for my cousins

Based on your assumptions, those GGGrandparents would also have to have been the first born son in the family.
