Greco

Postby gbomar01 » 21 May 2012, 15:50

I am looking for information on a Carlo Greco, who is my grandfather. He was born in SallaParuta, Italy on September 24, 1879. Would like to find out how to get a birth certificate and the names of his parents who were also born in the same town. I also know that he married my grandmother Catherine Lombardo (who was from Naples area) and they had a child name Mary Greco before they moved to US. Thank you for any help or direction on how to find out any information on them. I can be reached at the below email address.

Thank you,

Put the URL into Google Translate. Then select Italian to english. Will give you some idea of what is on the page.

It is usually better to write a letter than to send an email.

Address:
Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Via Regione Siciliana, 10
91020 Salaparuta (TP)
ITALY

You will need to write your letter in Italian...
Help with letters of request:
http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... talrecords
http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resourc ... civile.asp

You may have to wait anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months for a response (it depends on the comune[town])... and some never respond at all.
After waiting for a period of time, you may wish to EMAIL to inquire whether they received your request... :-)
