Where did your grandfather settle in USA it would help with research.
Wifes name also would shorten the search for records

Hey suanj :D !
Salvatore's 1930 census in Essex County NJ indicated that he arrived about this time.
From your great manifest find it appears that his mother's name was DeVito and he was born in Melfi
Note: when looking for birth records the poster may want to check all of December 1896 - his WWII Draft Registration Card listed his birth date as 30 Dec 1896.
Valarie

Salvatore Maiorino 17, abt 1896
- single
- last residence Melfi
- leaving mother Lucia DeVito
- destination changed from PA(?) to Croton-on-Hudson, (Westchester County) NY
- joining uncle Michele DeVito in (?)
- born in Melfi

Thanks for your replies! Yes suanj, I already have that info. Thank you Valerie - I didn't know his mother's name, nor his place of birth. Any info on his father? Also, I am searching for info on my grandmother as well, I have NO clue what her mother's name was, nor surname. Her married name was "Guiliano", she arrived here with my grandmother in 1910 according to EI records. My grandmother's name: Nicoletta Guiliano. She was 4 when she arrived. Thank you!
