Avallone

Postby jmlong » 19 Jun 2012, 01:22

My great grandfather Salvatore Avallone was born 1871 in Teggiano Salerno Italy. He died in 1974 in Chicago. His mother was Maria Guiseppa Federico born 1877 and his father was Carmen Avallone. I can't find any more information on his parents and am not sure where to go from here. Any information would help. Also, can't find info on his siblings.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum!
We would be happy to help.
Do you have all of your great grandfather's US records?
Sometimes they contain clues to his siblings.
Thank you, Valarie

Is this his 1893 marriage record?

Thanks for your help. That is his marriage certificate. Do you think Maria Federico changed her name to Josephine at some point? I can't quite figure that out? I also can't find any information on Salvatore's parents.

She may have decided to use her middle name. Giuseppa is often Americanized to Josephine.
Salvatore may have come to the US alone or with a friend.
His parents may have stayed in Italy.
