Testa's who died in Prision camps in Italy WWII

Postby jerseygal » 22 Jun 2012, 00:31

I have cousins that I'm told died in prision camps in Italy during WWII. My Questions are as follows:
1. Are there any death records from the camps?
2. Are there any records of prisioners?
3. Were entire familys arrested and imprisioned?
4. What history is available about the camps and why Italians arrested?

Hello, :D
Here is some information from the web site Ministero della Difesa
I believe I have this right...Felice was born in 1909 and died in 1936 fighting in Ethiopia and is buried in a military cemetery in Ethiopia.
Nome: FELICE
Cognome: TESTA
Data di Nascita: 15/7/1909
Luogo di Nascita: COLLE S. MAGNO
Luogo Sepoltura: PASSO UARIEU - CIMITERO MILITARE
Data Decesso: 21/1/1936
Luogo Decesso: MAI BELES

Google Battaglia di Passo Uarieu and use your language translator to research the this 1936 battle.

Hope this information helps,
Paul

Just to add...
This site offers information about Italian records http://www.progenealogists.com/italy/it ... litary.htm

If you have a name and birth date, You might want to email the Provincia di Frosinone and ask for their military records. http://www.comuni-italiani.it/060/index.html
I use google translator to construct a letter and it works pretty well.
Ask them to search for the military records of....add the name, birth date, and comune.
You might get a reply.
