Italian Translation help

Postby rp76226 » 22 Jun 2012, 04:50

If I intrepreted this birth record correctly, Maria Cascio was born March 24, 1864 to parents Rosario Cascio and Arcangela Trabunella. Here's the link - http://postimage.org/image/5znukwbpz/
Now here's the problem. I also have a March 13, 1864 death record for Maria Cascio born to the same parents. If I intrepred the death record correctly, the child was only 3 days old when she died ("il giorno tre" with anni crossed out). That would imply that both babies were born two weeks apart to the same parents which is impossible. Here's the link - http://postimage.org/image/82n8vxgjl/

The death record (#43, registered on March 28 1864 at 3:00PM) states that Maria Cascio, aged 3 days ("di giorni tre" with anni crossed out), died on March 28 1864 at 1:00PM (ore tredici). There's no mystery at all!

rp76226,

It looks like you made a common mistake and read the "time" of death as the "day" of death :-)
