Traveling to ancestry towns

Postby jambug » 13 Jul 2012, 20:37

I will be traveling to Castrovillari to visit my Father's home (street). Dominico Miglio ,Father Giuseppe and mother Maria Pellegrini (who both died in Castrovillari). I would like to find their marriage or death records.I have all the dates.

Also traveling to Cantalupo nel sannio to visit my mother's birth home, Via Fontana 20
Christina Iannetti, Father Antonio(from Casino) and mother Josephine Albanese, Parents of Josephine, Nicola Albanese and Concetta DeSantis. Anyone have these names and towns in your Ancestry? I suspect Campobasso may be a town where my grandparents may have married or lived also. Thanks

Antonio Iannetta, son of Luigi Iannetta and Filomena Annunziata, age 25, born in Cassino, married Giuseppa Albanese, daughter of Nicola Maria Albanese and Concetta de Santis, age 18, born in Campobasso, on 01 JUL 1899 in Campobasso, Campobasso, Molise, Regno d'Italia. Source: Campobasso (Campobasso), Ufficio dello Stato Civile, Registri dello Stato Civile, 1809-1910, FHL INTL Film 1733315/MATRIMONI 1899/Numero 51, 01 JUL 1899.

Giuseppa Albanese is my 5C3R (she is also my 6C2R and 6C3R respectively on two other lines). If I understand your post correctly, Giuseppa Albanese is your Grandmother and, therefore, you and I are 7C1R (and 8C and 8C1R). Our common ancestors on each line are as follows: (1) Gregorio Antonio Romano (bapt 12 MAR 1665) and Vittoria di Lembo (bapt 07 JUN 1669); (2) Giovanni Battista Antenuccio (born circa 1676 in Baranello) and Antonia Cuzzuolo (bapt 15 JUN 1676); and (3) Angelillo di Lembo (born circa 1639) and Vittoria Gio: Carlo (born circa 1639). Present day spelling of di Lembo, Antenuccio, and Cuzzuolo are Lembo, Antenucci, and Gazzuolo.

While Nicola Maria Albanese was born in Campobasso, his father Pasquale Albanese was born in Busso, a small town about 9km from Campobasso. His maternal grandmother Maria Teresa Merlino was also born in Busso. As noted above, your Antenuccio line originated in Baranello (about 15km from Campobasso) and you have another line (Domenico di Lallo, circa 1680) that originated in Castiglione (note: there are many towns in Italy that once carried this name). However, the majority of your ancestors on your Albanese side originated in Campobasso.
