Ellis Island Word I can't make out

Postby rp76226 » 16 Jul 2012, 00:58

On Line 21 (Giovanni Cortese)of the following Ellis Island link, column 11 gives the family he left behind in Italy - Relationship and name. The name is clear - Giovanni. The relationship word is what I cannot figure out. With only a first name given, I would think it would be his father's name. However, on other lines, the word 'father' is clearly spelled and looks nothing like this word. Can anyone figure it out?

I want to say it looks to be "Parents". Does anyone else see the same?
