DeSimone and Barone Families from Napoli

Postby Psychoticprof » 03 Aug 2012, 00:31

Alberto DeSimone came here from Naples in January, 1905 at 19 yrs. with his mother, brother, sister and step brother (No names) to his Uncle Giordanno in New York, NY.

Alfansina (or Maria, depending) Barone came here in 1913 from a "small mountain town? possibly with her sisters. She married Albert (above) and died in 1930, also in NYC.

Albert was a barber at 32 Jones street and died in 1951 or 52.

I know it's not much but I have found so much of my family in this forum. Now I need to find another branch, though I think it not likely.

My God. So much info and so quickly. Vj, so many thanks. You've given me miles to cover.

I knew of the D'Agostino relations but never knew HOW. If you watch old movies, you'll see "Art Director: Albert S. D'Agostino" on both Republic and RKO movies. Couldn't understand why all the old Hollywood greats sent photos and greetings to my family when I was a child. No one could tell me more than that as they're all gone.

Thanks again. I look forward to communicating with you again.

A.J.

A J
I'm so glad we could help :D !
Ship manifests can be great sources for family relationships
(they're especially helpful since women keep their maiden names in Italy)
Thank you for the US background on your D Agostino branch
(since Albert S D Agostino was born in NY in 1892, he may have been Maddalena's nephew)
Do you need assistance with your US records; census, military, etc.
We can help if you don't have copies already.
Valarie

HI. I'm somewhat new to this forum...and I guess I am tangentially related to some of you!
My grandfather was Giovanni Sirignano. I am curious if in your research you have found anything about Madaline DiSimone's husband, (Giovanni's father) who would be my great grandfather.
Thanks!

Hi! My name is Rita Sirignano and I am the granddaughter of Giovanni Sirignano. I am looking for information on my great grandfather, Giovanni's father, who was married to Maddalena DiSimone. Has anyone discovered any information about him while researching the DeSimone's? Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
