How to find grandfathers roots?

Postby Redhotpengy » 11 Aug 2012, 02:04

Hey guys and I'm a 16 year old from Toronto. I'm new to the forum and I'd be grateful if you could help me.

My grandfather was born in Foggia in 1930, but he was adopted. My grandmother tells me she went back to Italy with him in the 1960's to the girl that gave birth to him, but she wouldn't tell him who his biological parents were. (My grandparents left Italy in 1951-53)

Is there anyway possible to find out who the biological parents are? I feel like this is also my duty to find out because it's not only my grandfather's roots, but my roots as well.

Any help is appresiated; thank you! :)

Most Italians that were 'adopted' didn't actually change their name (uness they went to America). Request a photopy of his original birth record. If his paretns names aren't on it, it is very unlikely (almost impossible) to find out who the parents were.
