naming children

Postby dmt1955 » 24 Aug 2012, 03:46

any thoughts on this practice.....

in january of 1866 rosa, age 18 months dies. in january 1867 the parents have a daughter and name this child rosa.

is this a common practice or is this more about how this individual family dealt with the death?

thanks for your insights

Naming a child after a deceased sibling is a very common practice.
