Looking for Tagliaboschi's from Anagni

Postby zookeeper007 » 09 Sep 2012, 12:34

Hello,
My fiancee's is a 3rd generation Italian-American and is trying to find her roots.
We know her Great Grand Father, Angelo, left with many people at the same time from Anagni in Lazio region to come to America around 1907.
I am confident she and her Father still have family that lives in Anagni today as well.

Any help to find more information for genealogy or family ties would be great.

At Ellis Island the name was altered in it's spelling to "Tagliaboske" or "Tagliaboski".

Thanks, Zoo

Hello zoo :-)

There are quite a few listings of arrivals for Angelo Tagliaboschi...
Have you looked at all of them for clues?
See this free site
https://familysearch.org/search/records ... liaboschi~

As for relatives in Anagni today...
There are 40 listings in the Italian phone book for TAGLIABOSCHI

If you should choose to write to one or more "potential" relatives :-)
Help with letters in Italian.

Don't know if you have US records? :-)

On the 1907 manifest (February) Angelo, age 30 is going to Williamsport, PA to his "brother-in-law Augusto Tursi"

So here is a POSSIBLE WWI registration card for Angelo in Ralston, PA
He is a miner
DOB given as 11 November 1876

That is our Angelo!
I am sorry for the later reply, but I didn't know anyone had posted a reply yet.
We had no idea Angelo had any relatives in Williamsport PA.

That's him alright.

Thank you. I am on several genealogy sites but the name Tagliaboschi/Tagliaboske doesn't seem to be very wide spread and they all seem to be coming from Anagni. So I know she still has some distant relatives there.

Zoo,

Anagni is a beautiful and friendly city; have you tried writing to the town hall? I have done research in Anagni and found the records complete and everyone I met was very helpful. I am sure that the information you are looking for is in the city offices and church archives. I was able to go back to the 1700's on our extended family trees. Perhaps someone could post your information on the town web site- Just an idea- but you never know!
