buy or borrow the book...it is interesting and informative.....the LDS
site also has research tips and guidelines that are most helpful...
including writing letters to Italy.

interview family and family friends, find out what they know. old pictures,
letters, postcards, family bible, local parish records, death certificates,
naturalization and citizenship papers, social security application, and even
old obituaries can provide you with names, dates and places. you need
the town of origin in Italy to trace the family there, hopefully you can uncover this in one of the above sources.

were you able to locate any information on ellis island site?

Inappropriate and indicative of problems far beyond the scope of this forum.

Can he get away with something like this? Is he going to come back with a reply saying that we are the ones who are crazy for getting upset?

What a sick inappropriate comment to read, I am upset that this type of person is allowed to act like he owns this site.

Shame on you Peter. Your comments on a daily basis lack compassion and certainly lack intelligence.

Think before you type.

It is what I have been saying since day one. This man has no place here.
He is scarcely helpful beyond a VERY remedial level. He quite obviously has had little actual experience, which is fine EXCEPT that he is a rude, obnoxious, and insulting poster. He attacks pretty much everyone here.
New people join this forum in droves, post a couple of times, are harassed and subsequently scared off. And this is ok with you people?

It is intended to include all genders in a humorous way. Remember I am from NYC where humorous people live. Peter

MACD,
draw up a list of pertinent questions to ask, the town is very important,
and always keep a notebook handy to jot down your info.
good luck :D
