Hi. My GG Grandfather was born in 1885 in Italy. When he was about two in
1887 his father left him and his mother and moved to NYC. He got a job and got
married and had more kids. When my GG Grandfather was about five he and his
mother came to America in about 1890. His mother found work and they lived in
an apartment until her death in about 1892- 1895, so he was put in an orphanage
until about 1900 when his father took him out to work and make money for the
family. My GG Grandfathers name was Carmine Morro and his mothers name was
Teresa. I think his dads name was Anthony but I'm really not sure. It's a
hunch. I don't know where he was born or if Morro was his fathers name or his
mothers maidan name. After his mom died he was in an orphanage. Probably
either an italian or catholic one until he was about 14. If you can help me
find him or his parents. I found him in the 1910 census but before that I am
clueless. Maybe a marriage certificate could help. His wife's name was
Filomena Digianni who was born in 1891. Thanks for the help
Erik
