SCOLA family

Postby traceypet » 05 Feb 2005, 00:12

I am researching my SCOLA family ancestry.

Scola Giacomo Costante, son of Giovan Battista and Frigeri Innocenta.
He was born on 22 october 1877 in Lorentino (now Calolziocorte) and married Kubli Rosina on 11 january 1903 in Quarten.

If anyone can help me with researching this name, in Calolziocorte - please respond.

thank you

Hi Tracy,

Did your ancestors settle in the US... if so where? Have you researched census files and manifests?

Giacomo and Rosina were married in Switzerland?? or Italy.. If either had siblings, and children... it helps to mention them... info such as this would help those -willing to help you.

Hello, thank you for responding. You are right, have mentioned as much information as i can . I don't know whether any of the Scola's immigrated to North America.
Rosina and Giacomo were married in Switzerland.

This is the information that I have regarding them:

My great grandfather was Hans Weber who was born Feb 14, 1902 in Glarus.
His wife was Rosina Katharina Scola who was born may 15, 1904. They were
married Feb 13, 1926.
Rosina's parents (my great great grandparents) were Giacomo Scola (born Oct 22, 1877 - died Oct 10, 1927) and Rosina Kubli( born July 14, 1878 - died Sept 11, 1956). They married Jan 11, 1903. Giacomo was from Lorentino Provinz Bergamo. They had at least 4 children, - Emil born 1908, Rosina born 1905, Hans, Katharina and Tony.

Giacomo (Jacob) Scola's parents were Giovanni Battista and Innocenta
Frigeri. That is all that I have for them.

Now i need to figure out what to do with the information that I have.....
thanks again.

Hi,

No i don't think he is related...my Webers came from the Kanton of Glarus, and I know that my great grandfather Hans Weber was born and died there.

Apparently Weber is a very common name in Switzerland.

thanks for checking for me ...
