Specific Families from Sarconi, Potenza, Italy

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

I am interested in learning more about the following family names Sanseverino, Toscano and Puloso (spelling ?) that originated in Sarconi. Can anyone help. I am especially interested in Nicolo Sanseverino who married Maddalena Puloso (spelling?) in the late 1800s. They had five children Antonio, Pasqual,Maria, Palma Carmela and Rosina. Any information would be valued. Thank you. :| :D :)

Peluso is the correct spelling for which you are searching.

There are microfilmed records for the town available for rental through a Mormon library run by the Church of the Latter Day Saints. The rentals are abt $7.50 a roll and normally stay at your local center for your use for abt a month.

Registri dello stato civile di Sarconi (Potenza), 1810-1910 Sarconi (Potenza). Ufficio dello stato civile

You're very welcome. No, I don't have any affiliation with the Peluso surname.

Thanks for these Tessa. :D

What does it say in the right hand margin of Pasquale's record please. I can read the first two lines okay and then get lost?

Also what do the words "in vita" in the context of the death records mean. In life?

Marty, thank you. Now that you have translated it I can see it VERY clearly. :D

Re the words "in vita" I guessed it probably meant that. Thank you for the clarification.

SANSEVERINO/SANSOBRINO? – POSSIBLE ERROR ON BIRTH RECORD

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

Could someone help please.

I have a Marriage Record (No 5 Image 1383) for
SANSEVERINO Vito Antonio, Aged 28 ,Father: Pasquale/ Mother: Maria Grazia Di Mauro
and
PELUSO Maddalena, Aged 21, Father: Vito /Mother Carmela Ciuffo
Date 1886 2 December
Link: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... 1853425333

and a Death Record (No 19 Image 1941) for the abovementioned groom:
SANSEVERINO Vito Antonio, Aged 37, possidente – landowner?, Same parents
(Mother is “Donna di casa” – lady of the house??)
Living at No 3 Via Media
Husband of PELUSO, Maddalena
Date 10 August 1896
Link: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... 1853425333

Then (MY PROBLEM) Birth Record (No 26 Image 500) for
SANSOBRINO? Vito Antonio Rocco
Born 13 November 1896 at No 3 Via Media
Mother: PELUSO, Maddalena , possidente –landowner?, widow of
SANSOBRINO?, Vito Antonio
Link: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... 1853425333

THE QUESTION: Have they made an error in the surname of child and late husband? Should they have both read SANSEVERINO? I am sure this all the same family unit.

I would appreciate others' thoughts. Thanks. Angela

Thank you for checking this.

Maddalena was remarried in 1898 to Nicola Sanseverino, Vito's younger brother. Is there any way of finding out whether Nicola legally adopted this child - his nephew?

Hi Angela! Almost 9 years later, I found your research here. I'm also trying to find my ancestors.

Your questions here confused me, because I also have a "Vito Antonio Sansobrino" in my lineage, from Sarconi, but with different parents. Mine was born in 1852 and got married here in Brazil in 1889. Son of Francesco Sansevrino and Maria Francesca Loponte. Did you find any other information that could help me about Sanseverino/Sansebrino/Sansevrino? I'm still trying to find informations about his trip to Brazil, probably with his brother Nicolao Sansevrino. I have everything registered in FamilySearch's website.

Thanks for any information!

Hello! Good afternoon!
I´m Cindy from Brazil and yes! We have the informations about Vito Antonio Sansobrino and Nicola Sanseverino. These two brothers moved to Brazil, Santa Catarina. They are at Famiy Search (LTDF-BS6 and KNTC-WJ5), sons of Francesco Sansobrino, also known as Francesco Sanseverino (GH73-CCR), and Maria Francesca LoPonte (LRQG-1QX). Nicola was the grandfather of my dad`s grandmother. He is our link with Italia. :)
I hope I have helped. ;)
