Translation of Marriage Record

Post by sinatra101 »

Can someone please give me at least a basic translation of this marriage record between Vincenzo Botte and Leoluchina Gabriele? It starts in the lower right corner of the one link and finishes on the whole left side of the other link.

Thank you Livio. Not sure of the mother - Silsisto or Antonina? Thought maybe Antonina was Leoluchina's mother?

The mother of Vincenzo Filomeno Botte is Irene Sisto -- from the birth record in Padula.

(I have just been researching in the Padula records, so was famiiar with it.) This also tells you ages of parents so you can look for their marriage record & birth records in Padula.
Antonina "Nuccio" is mother of Leoluchina Gabriele (age 22 at time of marriage).

This seems to be baptism of Leoluchina Gabriele, although it is from 1850 not 1851. (I did not find a later one, in 1851)

I'm sorry,my message was messed up. And thanks to kniuhart who backed me up with the correct info.

According to the baptism record found by https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... n493714476 Leoluchina's birth date on the marriage record was wrong and she was born May 18 1850 (baptized on day 21 May)

Can I get a little more in the translation. Looking to see how old the parents were so I can go back to their marriage and birth records

for Padula -- it says: Michele Botte, trentesei (=36) & Irene Sisto trente (=30) & it's from 1838; so you Should be able to get their marriage record, but not their birth records. However, the marriage record should show their parents' names, and probably their dates of birth. (the older marriage records were very thorough.) There is an index for many of the years -- but NOT All......
