I understand that the FHS does not have records of Roccadaspide but I'm reaching out in the hope that someone has info on, or a mutual interest in, the above surnames from Roccadaspide. My GGF was Vincenzo A.L. Cicatelli b. 1868 d.1941, his wife my GGM, was Emilia Genovese b.1871 d.1951. They lived in Roccadapside where they had my grandfather Lorenzo Cicatelli b.1893. I would like to know the names of their parents and whether my grandfather had any siblings. Here's hoping. Thanks.
If you are looking for information about Lorenzo Cicatelli's relatives in Roccadaspide and Salerno, I think I can help. I am Lorenzo's granddaughter, Joyce Cicatelli, and visited my grandfather's relatives in Salerno in 1971. Lorenzo's brother's name was Giovanni Cicatelli and his address was Via G. Giuliano. Pal. Brace. 84069 Roccadaspide. His Salerno address was Via G De Caro 14, 84100 Salerno.
Dear Joyce, My screen name must have thrown you. I am your cousin, Elisa. I do know about Grandpa Lorenzo's brother Giovanni, and I have corresponded with his son who is also named Lorenzo. Lorenzo still lives in Roccadapside. Grandpa had 3 siblings, Antonio, Filomena, and Giovanni. His parents were Vincenzo Antonio Luigi Cicatelli and his mother was Emilia Genovese. I have all their birth & death dates if you are interested. Grandpa Lorenzo was the only one of his sibs to come to the US. He was sent here by his parents because of bad behavior. He had relatives living in Boston from his mother's family, the Genoveses. And he stayed with them when he first arrived. I have been unable to search any further as the records for this town have not been made public and I don't feel right asking cousin Lorenzo to do it for me as it is fairly tedious work. In comparison I have extensive information on Nana's family. If you are interested in learning more about them, please let me know. For more private correspondence you can reach me directly via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for answering my post. Best, Elisa
