Trying (for a year) to find photo of Leonardina Liguori

Post by gliesian66 »

I need some help...

First some facts:

Parents (Troia Foggia, Italy)
--> Nicola Lizzi 1848-
--> Maria Lo Buono

Children
--> Carmina Lizzi (xxxx-1868)
--> Carmela Lizzi (1871-1955)
--> Catterina Lizzi (1873-1953)
--> Maria Lizzi (1876-1881)
--> Maria Leonardina Liguori (1878-1919)

Now my request:

I am looking for a photo of the youngest child, Leonardina.
She is my great-grandmother. She is my only great-grandparent that I do not have a photo of.

This is what I know of her:
She married Giuseppe Liguori (1879-1959), who later remarried after her early death.
She was buried in Kings County New York: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cg ... =106050212
Her children were Alfred Liguori (1904-1972), Guiseppe A Liguori (1912-1999) and Michael Liguori (1914-1992). Guiseppe A (Joseph Anthony 'Tony') was my grandfather.
This is her Ellis Island record (note: Lesuarda is an incorrect transcription of her name, it is Leonardina): http://www.ellisisland.org/search/passR ... 5&fromEI=1

I did try to reach out to some "Lizzi's" on Facebook, but the Lizzi's rejected my request as an unknown person which disables my account. So, does anyone know of any descendents of any of the other Lizzi's listed above? Or does anyone have any ideas of how I could find a picture of Leonardina?

Thanks alot!

I have not given up on finding a picture of Leonardina... I even put it on RocketHub: http://www.rockethub.com/projects?query ... leonardina.

And here: http://findingleonardina184.bravesites.com/

And it's here: http://boards.ancestry.com/surnames.lizzi/19/mb.ashx

And here is some detailed info on her, on my Ancestry tree:

Thanks,
Robert

And will also be here: http://findingleonardina.com.

Here is her birth record:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... :182167268

Seems as if she was born Maria Leonarda Lizzi.

And again on ancestry.com:
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/50192895 ... 0303241602

If anyone else has manage to find photos of their relatives from Troia, Italy, please give me some guidance as to what to do.

Thanks,
Robert

Hello Robert, :D
I will tell you what I did to obtain pictures and maybe it will be of some help.

Create a website. One that will allow search engines to find your surnames. The free web sites do not work this way. From my experience I will tell you there are many cousins out there that will google their own name just to see what pops up. When they see their family in a tree you have on your website, they will contact you.

My site has done this for me. I have met many cousins and have been able to obtain many old pictures I never would have without it.

Good luck,
Paul
