Hi all, I'm new here, trying to learn about my great grandmother's family. Here's what I know: Agatha Bozzi Anastasia, I THINK her dates are 1874-1936. She was born in Italy, I believe in Conca dei Marini on the Amalfi Coast, but I'm not even sure about that. I know that either she or my great grandfather (Gaetano Anastasia) or both were born there. My ultimate goal is to try to learn more about Agatha's mother, about whom I know even less (she apparently abandoned the family before they came to the United States). I can't travel to Italy to research and I don't speak or read Italian anyway. I wouldn't be averse to paying a reputable Italian genealogist. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, there are no available sources online nor at Mormons' Family History Centers. However, Bozzi doesn't seem to be a common surname in the area (I'm from near there), whereas Anastasio (ending with"o") is. Don't you have any more info?

Sorry for the delay - just catching up as I have been down with a migraine!
Suanj - thanks so much, I'm amazed at all this info. Yes, the passenger manifests are definitely my great-grandmother, she did have children Giovanni, Antonio and Maria (I knew them as Uncle John, Uncle Tony and Aunt Mary) and I've always been told she was pregnant with my grandmother when she first came to the US. And the census info that showed her and her daughter Margaret, that's my Aunt Maggie.
But as for Agata's life in Italy - how would I go about finding out who her parents were? I'm especially interested in learning about Agata's mother.
Hi because by ship's manifest the last residence was Furore town, it is possible that Furore was the birthplace also... but Furore and Conca dei Marini civil records are no microfilmed by LDS... and in just by Salerno Archive of State the Furore civil records are from 1809 to 1865; maybe the same for Conca dei Marini.. I no checked abt that... just a researcher on place can help you... regards, suanj
I am Antonio Anastasio's granddaughter. My dad was John. I too have started searching for info. I do not have too much yet. My uncle Frank Anastasio went to Amalfi in April. He was not able to find out about his grandmother because apparently he did not have the correct dates. How are you and I related?
