Translation help

Postby tlombardo » 06 Aug 2013, 06:01

Can someone help with a translation, please? I think I've got the basics, just want to make sure. This is the marriage record of Vincenzo Piazza and Calogera Ciulla, 31 Aug 1871, from Family Search pg. 1040, record # 81:

first page: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... n607776063

second page: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... n607776063

Sorry, I still can't figure out how to post an image.

This should have been a second marriage for Calogera. Is there anything in the record that indicates she was a widow? It says Vincenzo was unmarried, but not sure what it says about her. Also, parents for Vincenzo are Ignazio Piazza and Vincenza Giambrano, and Calogera's parents were Guiseppe Ciulla and Giovanna Maltese or Maltere. Can someone confirm that I've read this correctly?

Sorry, I still can't figure out how to post an image. This link is fine! :-)

This should have been a second marriage for Calogera. Is there anything in the record that indicates she was a widow? NO, she is "nubile" unmarried. It says Vincenzo was unmarried, but not sure what it says about her. Also, parents for Vincenzo are deceased Ignazio Piazza and living Vincenza Giambrano, and Calogera's parents were Guiseppe Ciulla and Giovanna Maltese (YES, Maltese) or Maltere. Can someone confirm that I've read this correctly?

FYI - all the men were mariners/sailors. The banns were posted on the door of the town office on Sundays, (first)7 August, (second) 14 August.
