Finding a Record from an Index

Postby rp76226 » 02 Sep 2013, 03:15

I found a Church marriage index record (from the Mormon site)for Vincenzo Bartolotta and Biaggia Majuri on Image #44 of the following link:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... n857144489

They are listed on the first line. There appears to be a reference number (either f2 or 72). I cannot figure out how to use that to find the actual marriage record. If it can be found, most likely I will also need translation help. I would appreciate any assistance you can give.

The f-2 refers to page 2.
I can give you some of the basics of the record. I will defer to those who are better at translating the Latin :-)

Record #5 - dated 7 January 1833
Banns were posted 16, 23, 25 of December 1833
for marriage of Vincenzo Bartolotta, son of Francesco Bartolotta and Bernarda Leggio
with Biaggia/Blasia? Majuri, daughter of Mercurio Majuri and Finocchio(?)
There were no impediments to the marriage.

for marriage of Vincenzo Bartolotta, son of Francesco Bartolotta and Bernarda Leggio
with Biaggia (in Italian) /Blasia(Latin) Majuri, daughter of Giuseppe and Mercuria Majuri and Finocchio(?)-not sure, but Finocchio may be the maiden name of Mercuria, the mother
There were no impediments to the marriage.

There are three witnesses listed in the record. These appear to be church witnesses who you will see served as witnesses for other marriages on these pages-
Don Domenico lo Piccolo, (Maestro)Bernardo Badolato, and Santo (can't make out his surname).

I have had information from another family member that the bride's mother was named Mereuna Finacehio. Her father was Giuseppe Majuri.
