Record #186
Dated 22 December 1886 at 8:46 AM at the town office in Barano d'Ischia
Before the offcial appeared Cristina Di Maio, age 63, peasant farmer residing in this town, to declare that at 1:15 AM on the 21st of the current month at Via Astiere (no number) to Teresa Iacono, spinner, wife of Antonio Pisano, sailor, both residing in this town, was born a male child who she presented and to whom was given the name GIORGIO.
The declarant presented the child to the official in place of the husband because he was away in Rome(?)
Witnesses to the record were Vincenzo Balestriere, 66, peasant farmer and Luigi Di Iorio, 36, peasant farmer.

Yes, he was absent from the town, finding himself in Rome for reason of his trade or profession.
