Postby ladominocrna » 22 Sep 2013, 16:39

From this birth act, I am looking for the parents of Leonardo. What is all the information in the left margin under his name. Thanks.

The notation in the margin is concerning Leonardo's marriage in Petralia Sottana. He married there on Nov 6, 1921, record #4 in Part II. The bride was Teresa La Placa, the daughter of Cataldo La Placa.

As to the parents in the record itself, the mother was definitely Francesca Domina. The record seems to state that the informant was in a legitimate union with Francesca, but the informant's first name looks feminine to me, so I have a problem with this. It looks like the name is Paola and not Paolo, last name Rusignuolo. The word contadino for this person's occupation could be contadina, making it feminine, but it's hard to say. I am hoping someone else will take a look at this record. I am gathering the informant is a Paolo and was the baby's father.

If the union was legitimate and the father was Paola then why is the last name Domina and not Rusignuolo..Interesting.

okay,I had it backwards. Paola, the informant, is the mother and the father was Francesco Domina. The record reads "seco lei convivente (living with her). The lei refers to Paola, so the mother in this instance was the informant on the record and not the infant's father.
