Surnames, Laurino, Avosso or Avossa

Postby mimi18149 » 14 Apr 2005, 01:33

I am looking for info on great-grandparents, Luciano and Archangel Laurino, from Tito Italy. Came to U.S. in late 1800's. Settled in NY or NJ.They had four daughters, Josephine-Caroline-Sue and MaryAnn. Daughters names were Americanized. Josephine (Marie-Josephine) was my grandmother. Mimi18149

Hi Mimi,

A 1930 census does mention that they immigrated in 1900... so an Ellis Island manifest should exist somewhere... if you haven't seen the census record, I could post it here if you wish.

Luciano would have been born in 1870

Angela in 1868

It does look like your GGP were married in Italy... about 1895...
