Dalaimo/Distefano/Dibiase/Diluca-San Mauro Forte & Accet

Postby maple62 » 19 Apr 2005, 19:04

Hi,

I live in London, England and I don't have access to any local family research centres or anywhere I can view microfiche records like you have in the USA. Any help or suggestions would be most welcome!

I'm trying to trace my family history back to San Mauro Forte. Matera. My paternal grandfather Michele Dalaimo (b1901) married Antonietta Dibiase whilst my maternal grandfather Vincenzo Distefano (b1899) married Domenica Diluca (b1908). They all lived in San Mauro Forte, Matera.

I know that Michele's father was called Domenico Dalaimo who married Rosaria ?? Likewise, on my mother's side, Vincenzo's parents were called Antonio Distefano who married Theresa ??.

I have twice written to the Archivio Di Stato in Matera but with no reply. Any help where I might start from here would be a great help.

Thanking you in advance

Hopefully you will be able to visit one of the family history centers to continue your research. Also, many libraries are able to order microfilm. Check with local libraries, they may be closer with better hours.

Good luck

Debbie,

Thanks very much for your info and to let you know that I've already contacted my local Family History Centre. For a very small fee they will order the microfilm which should take about 4 weeks to arrive. Can't wait to get started!!

Thanks again for your help...
