I am having trouble finding records using an Allegati as records do not have an index.

So if I know a marriage was 17 Apr 1880, if I go to Feb and work my way to late Apr I should find the posting of the request to marry……how do you know as dates are not visible. I am having problems getting to the right place and going record by record is too time consuming……..

What say you guys? Is there a rule of thumb on this?

What town and province are you searching?

Allegati are the documents presented in support of a marriage. In some places, they are part of the marriage processetti. Is it the marriage banns (pubblicazioni) you are seeking? Also, what website are you searching?
