Im looking for information on my Grandfather but not sure of the correct spelling... his name as I knoe it is Francessco Bellernie and I belive he was born in Lucca/Tusscany, he came to England around 1912 and changed his name to Frank Bell. At his death he lived in Gateshead, Newcastle upon tyne. Thank you

Could it be Bellani (I think this is how you pronounce Bellernie in English)?
It is very common in Lombardy, but also in Tuscany; actually not in Lucca but in the boerdering provinces of Massa and Pisa.
good luck!

Thank you for that, I shall look under that name, my family were never too sure on the spelling!
