looking for Francesco Agonito

Post by findfam4me »

I am looking for Francesco Agonito. from his naturalization doc's. he said he arrived here 4-10-1890
I have looked at all the ship manifests for that date and can not find him, I know the spelling changed on some of the passengers. I have tried different names and have no hits', I have researched the towns and villages it Italy where he was married, and again no hits, does anyone on this board have any idea where else I should look, His wife came over 5-11-1902 her name was Filomena A Papa, I have found her.and her daughters, they came from Montesarchio,

thank you I can be emailed at dignupbnes@hotmail.com

that is a hit for Francesco, even though the spelling is not right. on his naturalization doc's it spelled Agonito, on his later censes it is Agonito, although who knows what the original surname may have been, the name and sounds changed evertime it was written down, maybe we can find some information from his marriage, I am trying to research that at this time, he married Filomena Papa, in 1893 in the village of Montesarchio, BN, I do have the ship manifest for her
5-11-1902. she came over with 2 daughters
thanks again Ron glad to have some help,

If they married in 1893, there should be a ship manifest for Francesco sometime AFTER that date as well as a possible first manifest in 1890.

For reference, Filomena and children's 1902 manifest

This means: that you can order the Montesarchio civil records microfilms ( births, marriage deaths etc.. abt the year of Francesco birth and Francesco probable marriage year) in a Mormon's center in or near your residence town, and when the Center inform you that the microfilms are arrived, you can see it (in the Center) and to try the Francesco records.... for all details abt that, you can visite the website https://familysearch.org/search
