my Mom is from Costelluccio cosentino. degli Alburni. My Dad's Grandmother was from this Costelluccio Costentino as well. In fact my entire italian heritage come two towns, Costelluccio costentino and Galdo. So I am lucky in get family information.
I could be wrong but the name might not be Chimiendo but Chumiento. I can take Chumiento's to about 1840's. I am currently working with my uncle in Costelluccio to find out about Di Lorenzo's. When I get that link completed, I will bother him about Chumiento.
Howver, in Costelluccio, the other side of the family is the Di Lorenzo's and I can take them back to 1625.
Get back with me and I will ask my Mom about Feiore and Chimiendo. Mott St. in NYC at the turn of the century had Chumiento's and Grosso's, and Di Lorenzo. It was a common place to be if you were from that area. Also 114th st in NYC had the Trimarco family as well. Also, there was a Costelluccese Society where people from Costelluccio and galdo got together. It was amazing how proud of their heritage they were. I got lots on Costelluccio. Also, if you need Trimarco info, I have a relative who did an amazing amount of work on that side. He and I have to go back to 1801 to find our common Grandfather.
My uncle Carmine was in charge of the Costelluccio society until his death, about 6 or 7 years ago. I believe his son Vincent, my 2nd cousin is in charge of the society.
