Looking for Lamponi ancestors and relatives

Postby edlamp » 15 Feb 2014, 23:23

My name is Eduardo Lamponi. I am looking for my ancestors and possible relatives in Italy. I live in Argentina. I only know that my grandfather and his brother came to this country at the beginning of the XX century. My grandfather's name was Niccola Lamponi. He was born in 1884 in Torre di Palme, Prov. Ascoli, Marche. I will be very grateful if you can help me.

There are several listings for the surname LAMPONI in Fermo (of which Torre di Palme is a hamlet)

You might consider writing to one or more of these "potential" relatives to inquire of Niccola :-)

Here is the information link for Fermo...
You can write to the Comune of Fermo for your ancestors' records.
Included on this link is an email address

On contacting potential relatives, please consider that you're searching the same region where LAMPONI is the name of an ancient aristocratic family. Well, not just the same region, but same city since they lived in Fermo as well. Chances are those aristocratic ends will refuse contacts.
To start, have a look at wikipedia: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamponi_(famiglia) the move on books (of nobles)

Next, let's address the ancestors.
The name Niccola sounds arcaic. I prefer Nicola. Add that Spanish has no double c. This leads to LAMPONI NICOLA and its ship on Cemla:

It seems a good match. aged 23 means you got 1882 as birth date (not bad)
Federico LAMPONI was there too. I bet it was a young brother.

From that point on, It should be a rather easy genealogy to do.
