Thank you so much,I found a post that said Giuseppe Tognotti & Sophia(Pierreti) Tognotti came to the U.S. On July 24,1908 on the ship La Touraine with their children to meet with a son Pietro Tognotti in Chicago,il.I have looked through records and can't find any records for them,I'm wondering if they went back to Italy at a later date and died in Italy. Pietro must have been the oldest of their children, thank you again
I don't believe this is my Giuseppe Tognotti,I've traced back on ancestry and his wife isn't Sophia. I'm looking for Giuseppe Tognotti & Sophia (Pierreti) Tognotti,I've hit a road block finding anything about them after their arrival on July 25,1908 in New York the family was to join Pietro Tognotti their son in Chicago but I can't find him either.Pietro must have been the oldest son because my grandfather Vincenzo Tognotti was abt.18, Attilio was abt.19 and Chiara(Tognotti) Cantoni was abt.15 I don't know where to go from here, any suggestion?

You mentioned the ship manifest from July 1908 for their arrival... There must be a subsequent arrival because the July1908 manifest has them crossed out and stamped as "deported" - It appears Attilio was in the hospital (onboard?)
Some additional facts from the manifest: Giuseppe leaves his sister, Assunta, in Marlia. Giuseppe lists his occupation as "hotel keeper" The child, Domenico, who appears on the 1910 Census, is not on this manifest. Pietro's address in Chicago at this time was 74 Academy Place.
I located what appears to be the death of Daniel (Domenico?) Tognotti in 1931 The age is right... And the number of years in US (25) would agree with Domenico arriving with his brother Pietro before 1908.

I was able to trace back Daniel and Chiara along with my grandfather Vincenzo , but can't find out what happened to Giuseppe and Sophia Tognotti after they arrived in1908.I found a draft card for a Pietro Tognotti in Nevada City,Calif, but nothing else and I found a regristration card for Attilio Tognotti the other brother that birth date stated 5-28-1889 but nothing after that,I'm at a stop on death dates for all four family members. There are a few family trees that I think might have them in but they are private and I have asked in a email, but so far no reply.Any ideas would be great!
