Translation of Giosafat Paolillo death certificate

Postby pm16 » 15 Apr 2014, 04:58

Can anyone help with this one? The handwriting is awful. I think I got the date (August 17,1899) and his mother's name, Orsola Fiore and that he was the widower of Angela Gallo. Can anyone tell me how old he was and what his father's name was?

Thank you!

It was recorded on 17 August 1899 but he actually died yesterday (ieri) so he died on 16 August 1899 at 4 p.m. He was aged 78 (sessantotto), a farmer. His mother was deceased, (yes it looks like Orsola Fiore), and his father was also deceased but I can't read his name, sorry. Yes, it looks like he was the widower of Angela Gallo.

Great catch and welcome to the forum. :) I would never have picked this, the letter "a" is so different from the others. I can see it now.
