need help with reading a death record

Post by carmenvalenziano »

i would appreciate if someone would translate this record for me

http://home.comcast.net/~carmen_furtado ... 9d1a1-.jpg

if a woman dies - is she listed under her maiden or married name

on the trani records i save the index to my hard drive and view it from there

that way i don't have to deal with that annoying viewer

thanks

carmen

hi tessa

i didn't think this was the correct one because i had antonio's father's name as bartolo - but when i looked closely at antonio's permission to marry

http://home.comcast.net/~carmen_furtado ... 9i1a1-.jpg

it does say nicola and right before lucia is the name anna

spent the last two days fixing files

http://home.comcast.net/~carmen_furtado ... 0gv_g.html

thank you

:)

Hi Carmen :-D

Yes, I can see why you read his father's name as Bartolo... that is why we always like to verify with other records... - FYI - this is not a "permission" but rather a "Solemn Promise to Marry"

AND... nice job your your files!

However, Mother is Maria Giuseppe Palmieri in both records - with an "e" not an "a" - much clearer in the death record.

Yes, most clearly Maria Giuseppa in this birth record...
So death record is incorrect with Maria Giuseppe?

The child was given the name Giuseppe..

I was lucky enough to find immediately the "Allegati" for the Marriage of Giuseppe Valenziano and Marianna Calefato: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,348758001
They include Marianna's birth certificate:
She was born in Trani Dec 19 1753 to Vincenzo, aged 33 and to Donata Tito aged 30. (The actual birth record is here: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0)
