Help with a surname: Cobibellia

Postby PecciSalera » 29 Apr 2014, 06:18

Has anyone seen this surname before? I found this information online from the transcription of a death certificate, but I can't find the original scanned image to compare the information with. Here is the information:

Death certificate for Angelo Salera, age 58, born in Italy. Died of cancer of the larynx on 27 Feb 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at home at 146 Robinson St. Spouse Caroline Salera, signed by son Frank Salera. Father Frank Salera, mother Antonet Cobibellia.

I believe that that I found the Birth act of Angelo:
Angelo SALERA born in Marsicovetere on 2 jun 1866 #60 son of Francesco Salera 30 old, farmer ( son of late Angelo), and of Antonia Campiglia ( daughter of Giambattista)
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,392254902

I am positive that is the right person, because the names matching and also in 1902 a baby Giambattista Salera died:

Giambatista Salera, "Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh City Deaths, 1870-1905"
Name: Giambatista Salera
Event Type: Death
Event Date: 26 May 1902
Event Place: Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania
Gender: Male
Age: 2
Birth Year (Estimated): 1900
Father's Name: Angelo Salera
Mother's Name: Caroline Salera
Spouse's Name:
Reference ID: v 109 p 582
GS Film number: 505872
Digital Folder Number: 004672776

I agree this Suanj, this is the image of the death certificate and the lastname looks like Combellia, a mispelling of Campiglia

Wow, you people are good! I have posted on other sites and I'm so glad I found this specific one. Thank you so much for the information! I agree, the information found must be the people I am looking for. BTW, Angelo Salera shows up several times under the name Thomas, I'm not sure why but I've seen it on a Pittsburgh city directory and also on a census.
Thanks so much!
