I am new to this website. I am a third generation of American born Sicilians from Buffalo NY. I am doing some genealogy research on my great grandmother Loreta Militello.

Date of Birth: definitely March 19, possibly year 1884
Ellis Island arrival date: May 6, 1902
Port of Departure: Palermo
Place of residence: Aliminusa Sicily
Ship: The Washington
Final Destination in US: Buffalo NY.
In the Ellis Island ship original ship manifest she's listed as Loreta "Militella" but its really Militello and my dad says that's her.
She married Giacomo Nasca and they had 7 children between 1908-1923. They lived in ward 27 Buffalo NY.
She died Feb or Mar of 1970. year of death is accurate.
Any info you can lead me to on Loreta Militello would be helpful. Thank you.

I think this is your Loreta Militello. Bottom left page....I can't make out the parents names, but maybe someone else can. Dated the 23rd of March, Loretta was born 21 March 1884.

FYI - Took a look at the arrival manifest for Loreta in 1902.
The last name is written as Militello, it just looks like an "a" at the end because of the top of the "S" in the name Salvatore on the line below it.

It appears that she and Giacomo Nasca were married in the US, correct?

This WWI registration card gives his birthdate as 7 August 1882.

Thank you for the information and my apologies for delayed response. I was having password issues.
I believe Giacomo and Loreta were married in Buffalo. Loreta was sent to Buffalo to take care of her brothers.
