Maria Francesca Odoven, 60 years old, born in Napoli, daughter of the late Carlo and Eleonora Di Ino (?) died in Lipari on 27 feb 1848.
Maria Francesca Odoven was married to Giovanni Antonio Rodríguez and was daughter of Carlo, governor of Lipari. Odoven is not an Italian last name, and I suppose nor Carlo's wife was Italian. I think her last name was mispelled in the death act of Maria Francesca
Thank you to all who have replied. I had first thought that di Ino must be a surname and haven't been able to go further with this line. I know that Maria Francesca was married to Giovanni Rodríguez, he is recorded on other records I have as Barone Don Giovanni. I have since found sites that suggest he was Baron of the Bridge.
The reason I wondered about the surname of di Ino is that I have been looking for years for Carlo Odoven and Eleonora di Ino and came across a record on Familysearch for a marriage of Salvatore Odovenne to Maria Giovanna Esposito in 1832. Salvatore is just 4 years older than Maria Francesca and his father is also noted as Carlo and his mother Eleonora Leospecedes (obviously not Italian either). I have read the original but my Italian is extremely limited, but from what I understood it appears still likely. The original can be found here http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 4.jpg.html
So to me if the writing of di Ino wasn't to do with the surname then this was very likely the marriage of Maria Francesca's brother and I now know the mothers surname was Leocespedes. Not sure how to prove that of course, but couldn't help but wonder especially as the names are rare in Italy.
As for Maria Francesca's name, she seems to be known more as Francesca, but her surname is usually recorded in Lipari as Odoven however when she signed as a witness her surname appears to be spelt Odovene.
I had no idea that Carlo was governor of Lipari, I had thought he might have stayed in Naples and have been looking for him there.
Thank you for your help; I had forgotten to look for that document completely!.
A search of Google books provided a few Odovene's in Napoli that all seemed to be in the Military around Gaeta where Salvatore is said to be born, (one of which was married to a Maria Francesca), so I think its likely they are related, just need to find records to support that theory.
