Immigration Mystery

Postby rp76226 » 08 Jun 2014, 16:47

According to their daughters, my grandparents first met on the ship that took them to America from Italy. However, according to immigration records, they arrived on different ships. I'm thinking that somehow they met as they were processed through Ellis Island. However, I don't know of any way to at least confirm the possibility that this could have occurred. Here are their immigration records:

Evangelista Lorusso - Line 12 - http://postimg.org/image/qpf1lzt95/

Maria Antonia Fariello - Line 6 - http://postimg.org/image/i1fiy5r9t/

Note - both ships did arrive on the same day - April 15, 1921.

Well, since you found their manifests and they did arrive at NY, and thus Ellis Is., on the same day, doesn't that confirm the possibility that they met as they were processed through Ellis Is.? What more evidence are you hoping to find?

I wasn't sure if there was a way to find out the order in which each person processed through Ellis Island that day so that I could confirm that they were near each other while on line.
