Records for Santa Flavia

Postby jim64 » 25 Jul 2014, 01:59

Hello,

My great-great grandfather came from the town of Santa Flavia in Palermo. Officially, the Family History Library only has records for Santa Flavia covering the years 1885-1902. Only one of my
gggrandfather's siblings was born during that period; I now have her birth record. However, my gggrandfather was born in 1870.
I have heard that records for Santa Flavia prior to 1885 were indeed in the FHL, under "Solunto, 1868-1880" and "Solanto, 1820-1861". Solanto and Solunto are one in the same, and I have read that Santa Flavia is very close by.
To my question. Does anyone know EXACTLY which records are available from Santa Flavia in the Solunto and Solanto files? For instance, something like ""Births, Marriages and Deaths in Santa
Flavia for the years 1870-1875 are under 'Solunto, 1868-1880'."
The reason I ask is that I cannot get to the FHL in person and must rely on another party (who requires information to be as specific as possible) to do research there.

Thanks for any help anyone can give,
Jim

Welcome to IG website
Civil registry (births, banns, marriages, citizenship records, deaths) from Santa Flavia, Palermo, Italy. Prior to 1880, Santa Flavia was known as Sòlanto. For records from 1820-1861 see: Sòlanto (Palermo). Ufficio dello stato civile. The hamlet of Solunto is also now a part of Santa Flavia and records after 1880 are found in Santa Flavia.
