Anyone know where the Liguori surname originates? Or any fun facts about the name 'Liguori'?

Thanks,

Are you asking for its geographic origin or its meaning? The highest concentration of people with that name is in Campania, in particular, Napoli, where it's fairly common (more than 1000 people).

You may find this site interesting. May need to use a page translator :-)

Basically, it states (as mentioned above) that Liguori has its nucleus in Campania, with strains and variations in Naples, Rome and Salento.
For some, the origin may be the Latin 'liquor / liquoris' with the sense of 'liquid substance, invigorating drink', for others of corruption Lidorius with the sense of 'he who strikes', for others it might be related with the name of the ancient Liguria.

Also found the following on google books, but there is no preview there. This relates to what I found on ancestry
