Norma Italy Birth Certificate

Post by DVit »

I am looking to get my grandfathers birth certificat and possibly great grandfather from Norma Italy. I know it doesn't cost much but I could use some help. Anyone able to help, would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I can also help you?

Dear Angelo,

There is microfilm for the town of Norma, Italy that you can order and rent from the Family History Center for about $3.50 a roll. However, the film is limited from 1871-1910. Here are the film numbers:

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... =1&last=50

Or as was previously stated, you can write to the town directly for documents. If you do write, make sure you send 2 International Return Coupons which you can get at your Post Office for about $1.80 each.

A good website to help you translate the your letter is http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resourc ... civile.asp

I hope this helps,
Trish

Hi DVit,

Here is a link where I tried before to describe how to obtain microfilm from the Family History Center.

Here is the link to find the nearest Family History Center.
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... et_fhc.asp\

The microfilm are copies of the original Birth, Marriage, and Death Acts. A good book to get is A Genealogist's Guide to Discovering your Italian Roots, by Lynn Nelson

If you have questions, just ask. We are all happy to help.
