Spetafore

Postby drbdrdeb » 22 Nov 2014, 20:02

I am looking for a family from San Giovanni in Fiore, or at least, that is the place given to me. Family name is Amato or Amatto. Mother's maiden name is Spetafore. Son Sam took her name when he came to America. Sons Giuseppe (born 1902) and Frank kept Amato. They came over together with a sister and settled in British Columbia just after WWI. Any direction is appreciated.

Sure the surname is not Spadafora?

This was the spelling of the name Sam used in 1923. Spadafora sounds better. But he was young when he came over and maybe did not spell well. Would the second spelling match any data I have?
