Angelo Sorbara Aug 1 1887 missing birth record

Postby ssorbara » 24 Nov 2014, 22:24

The information I have for my great grandfather Angelo Sorbara is that he was born on Aug 1, 1887 in Bauso Millitary district of Messina. I searched records for VillaFranca Tirrene which shows the word Bauso on the ledgers, however just my luck the year 1887 is skipped in the records.

Can anyone tell me if 1. Villafranca Tirrene is the same as the Bauso Millitary district of Messina and 2. Does anyone know of another simple way to find out if the records were truly missing or just skipped in the imaging process?

Any help is appreciated.

Birth record might be on the Family History Library films they have more film records than online records .Births, marriages, deaths, banns. Villafranca Tirrena was known as Bauso
Nati 1880, 1882-91, 1894-97, 1899 Pubblicazioni 1866-1910 Nati 1892-1893 Matrimoni 1866-1880

Marty
Thank you for the reply. Those are the files I searched that are missing the year 1887. I was hoping for another solution.

Write to the town for a copy. The filming was done at the State Archives and sometimes the town didn't send a second copy. That's why they are missing some years. The town usually has a complete set.
